Jin aka Kim Seokjin of BTS is one of the most well-known and undeniably attractive men in the world. He says so, and we won’t argue with him.

Early Life And Education

Kim Seok-jin was born in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, on December 4, 1992. His mother, father, and older brother make up his family. Seokjin was scouted off the street by SM Entertainment while in junior high school, but he turned down the offer because he thought it was a hoax.

He originally planned to be an actor, attending Konkuk University and graduating on February 22, 2017, with a degree in art and acting. He is presently a graduate student at Hanyang Cyber University, where he is studying subjects other than music.

While going along the street, Jin was spotted by Big Hit Entertainment for his good looks. Jin was studying acting at the time and had no musical experience. Jin made his debut as one of BTS’s four vocalists on June 13, 2013, with their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. In 2016, Jin released his first co-produced tune, “Awake,” a solo single off the album Wings. The single reached number 31 on the Gaon Music Chart and number six on the Billboard World Digital Singles Chart.

Jin’s second solo, “Epiphany,” was released as a promo for BTS’ then-upcoming compilation album Love Yourself: Answer on August 9, 2018. Billboard characterized the song as a “rising pop-rock tune” with lyrics about self-acceptance and self-love. The song’s complete version was later released as a single on Answer, reaching number 30 on the Gaon Music Chart and number four on the Billboard World Digital Singles Chart.

The Korea Times’ Hong Hye-min hailed Kim’s voice as “soft, mournful, [and] free-spirited,” calling it the “standout feature” of the solo ballad “Epiphany.” When examining “Epiphany,” critic Park Hee-a remarked that Kim “sings the most heartfelt sentiments” of the solo tracks on Love Yourself.
